1. The Four-Step Verification Protocol for Schools
Before registering students or processing payment for any spelling competition in Nigeria or Africa, follow this verification checklist:
Check Domain URL
Always inspect the domain in your browser address bar. The official Nigeria Spelling Bee operates strictly on www.NigeriaSpellingBee.com. The official continental federation operates strictly on www.africanspellingbee.com.
Confirm FME Accreditation
Authentic national championships hold written endorsements from the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and collaborate with the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC).
Inspect Payment Channels
Official registration fees are never paid into individual private accounts. Ensure payment portals and bank accounts are registered in the corporate name of the organizing body.
Verify Age-Cutoff Rules
Legitimate national bodies employ verifiable age brackets evaluated as of 1st January of the competition season (Primary 6–9, Junior 9–13, Senior 13–16) rather than approximate school grades.
2. Official National Championship Directory
Use the verified contact desk below to authenticate any communication received by your school:

3. Reporting Unaccredited Solicitations
If your school receives an unsolicited letter claiming to represent the "Official National Championship of Nigeria" or promising automatic international trips without verifiable government accreditation, please submit the details for registry review:
